THE AMERICAN EXODUS INTO ORTHODOX CHRISTIANITY

ONCE UPON A TIME, Orthodox Christianity in the United States of America appeared only in dark corners of western culture, relegated to immigrant sub-cultures in and around urban areas. As an Eastern Religion, Orthodoxy has always stood in the shadows of the western Protestantism and Roman Catholicism. Once a seemingly restricted faith, in which the liturgies were spoken in foreign languages and old world cultures were maintained, the doors of Orthodoxy have gradually opened up to Americans as a whole over the course of generations of immigrant assimilation.

From the onset of the “Covid -19 Era”, as many western churches floundered, down-sized, and even disbanded, the Eastern Orthodox Church has experienced remarkable growth in the United States. Although there are likely as many reasons for this expansion as there are converts, it would seem apparent that Christians who are spiritually tuned-in have come to a serious crossroads with their understanding of faith, and are now seeking truth in the Apostolic Church.

THE NEO-CHRISMATICA PODCAST is a forum of Orthodox Topics from the perspective of the American Converts into the Ancient Faith who have taken the bold step forward.
